I have dealt with technology since the late 1980′s and the changes that have occured have been tremondous. I began with computers as a junior in high school and my computer class consisted of computers with DOS format on them. When I was being taught computers in high school, we were responsible for writing programming code for the purpose of getting the computers to actually do something. After graduation, I went to work at a Home Health Care facility as a data entry clerk. My job was to key in time sheets in a program that was created in DOS to ensure that the nurses that went out to people’s homes would get paid for their services. Throughout the many different jobs I have held, one thing has remained the same; In every job I used some form of technology. Technology is here to stay and you will also have to deal with some form of technology no matter what career path you choose to take. Taking a look at your school career to date; how has technology impacted and/or changed? What are some of the changes you expect to see in the next ten years when dealing with techology?
I have been gratuated from high school for 20 years and the changes that have been placed before me when dealing with technology have been numerous. If I had not been willing to change with the times and learn new concepts on a regular basis, I would have lost many jobs and/or not been able to advance within the companies I have worked for. In thinking about the career you would like to someday work at, what type of technology would you use and what changes do you forsee in that area when it comes to technology.
Since grade school we have taking computer class where we practice our math, reading, and typing skills. These basic computers would allow us to do only what the teachers want us to, no internet or anything of that matter. Also teachers had the over head projectors, now they have 52 inch flat screen T.V. Chalk boards have been traded for dry erase or even smart boards.
With in the next 10 years i see computers that will go as fast as the human mind can think. I see a “auto pilot” deal with cars. Possibly robotic servants. With in the school the way students learn will also be completely different for example; already there are schools that have a laptop for every student to use during their studies.
i use technology every day; my cell phone, ipod, computer all these change every day. Every month a new phone, ipod, and even new computers come out. Phones that do everything a computer can do, computers that do just about anything a brain can do.
In the next 10 years I believe technology will speed up, and the price will go down. It will run more efficient without the worry of something going wrong.
When I first entered school they were using DOS. By the time I had moved to middle school Microsoft Windows 2000 was being used. In the next ten years I see technology becoming faster and more powerful and eventually more user friendly. Technology is far from it but someday it will probably be secure. I haven’t decided on a career yet but every career today uses some form of technology.
TRACI!!
I just read your post and I do agree that technology has changed a great amount.
I have went from not knowing anything about computers to working on computers half of the time.
Technology keeps changing and the biggest part of my schoolwork/homework consist of using a computer. Technology keeps expanding so I have to keep up to date and continue learning all there is to know about technology.
I want to be a psychiatrist and I think that I will have to know a lot about technology to be the best doctor I can be.
Since i was enrolled in school technology has increased from doing one thing at a time to starting to run tens of different programs at a time. When i was first enrolled in school i had never heard of the internet and now that i am starting to graduate my life in technology has increased.
In the next ten years i plan to see our technology here increasing and becoming more interactive in peoples life because by this time ten yeras from now everything will be ran off of computers.
While in high school I have seen technology grow and emerge into something outstanding. Technology, in my opinion holds the key to anyones future. With out the ability to use and emerge with technology you may never hold a steady job. In over half of the jobs you plan on persuing will in some way use technology. Its an on going process, that will continue to be sucessful. People will always be faced with new ideas and inventtions, they can either learn and prosper from it or they can fall behind and become oblivious to there surroundings.
Wehn I first got introduced to technology I was in grade school. To be honest I was clueless! But the more I worked with it the more I learned. But you would not believe how much that technology has changed. There is some programs that I miss. Everything seems more difficult now. BUt it is kind of better because everyone will get use to it and there is 895789478964 more options now. Technology has a huge impact on my life. Without technology i’d be LOST! Anything you need to know, you can find it on the internet..
since i started using technology it has gotten faster, smaller, portable, and looks different. ten year from now technology will only get better and more efficient. at many if not all jobs technology is used in some form. i use technology every single day in some way. most jobs require the use of some technology.
due to my short term career i have only seen minute changes that have been mostlyu updates to previous items.
I expect to see everything updated and a brand new way of some sort that is fasdter and smarter to serach the web.
The career that i have set before myself si that of a boat captain. i can see changes in the use of GPS and radar technology.
When I started school back in the mid 90′s, technology was limited. Our computers were built in with the monitors and the computers were very slow. I had never even heard of the internet when I first started school, but after a couple of years in school, I was introduced to the internet.
Since then technology has changed drastically. From huge computers big as T.V’s to small hand held computers today. Technology changes and I see it continuing to change and in the future think everything will become wireless, made smaller, more advanced, and more moble. With all these changes that will occur, it is madatory that we learn and change with the technology as it changes.
Technology has drastically changed in the past 10 years. Since grade school, I have always been around computers. Although in recent years computer have become more convenient and alot faster for the users. For example, the the past computer where more bulker in size and weight. Monitors where bigger and harder to deal with than they are today. Though, they still are today, computers also come in laptops, which are easier for user to carry around.
I believe technology will never stop growing. Since its changed so quickly in the short time of two years. I think the later the years get, the more technology increases. Soon, technology will be able to deveolp things never thought possible.
I have dealt with computers almost my entire life. And in that time they have changed so much it is almost unbeleivible. The very first I ever owned was one my mom got me from the tx office when I was seven that ran DOS. I used this system for a few years and was content. After that I got one that ran Windows 3.1 and I was blown away. I didn’t have to type in commands anymore all I had to do was point and click on what I wanted to use.
I then upgraded to a system that ran Windows 95 and was blown away yet again. This sytem would run so much more and was much more responsive. After awhile a got ahold of a copy of Windows 98 and used that for several years. Finally I upgraded to Windows XP and that is what I use today.
Not only have I had a computer almost all my life I also have gotten into handheld devices. I t is amazing how much technology has adavanced sisnce I started using it. I have no idea what to expect in the future but I know it will be much faster and much more advanced than anything I can think of right now.
In my High school experience it has changed Enormously, It has become faster and more depended on as time progresses . Nearly everything you do anymore involve’s some kind of technology. In the next ten years i expect it to help us with every aspect of our life.
Looking back on what technogoly was like in elementary school compared to what it is like now, I can see that it has greatly improved! Technogoly has began such a huge part of our lives and we haven’t really slowed down to realize it. One of the biggest advancements was the internet. It provides the oppurtunity to access almost anything from the comfront of your home. You can shop online, go to college, vist places virtually, and much more.
I plan to attend PCC next year and my major is undecieded, however I do want to persue a career in the medical field. Technogoly plays a major role in the medical field and it is constantly changing, meaning any proffesion I choose with this field I will be dealing with technology.
In the future I believe that technology will advance in ways that we never though possible and will be a suprise to us all, just as the internet and other advancements have already done.
