As you look at the country that you have chosen, try to pay close attention to the different types of cultures that acturally make up the popuplation. After reading the referenced blog, reflect about what you have read and how this information can help you throughout your “Learning Around the World” project.

Technology – What it means to me! Monday, Aug 27 2007

I have dealt with technology since the late 1980’s and the changes that have occured have been tremondous. I began with computers as a junior in high school and my computer class consisted of computers with DOS format on them. When I was being taught computers in high school, we were responsible for writing programming code for the purpose of getting the computers to actually do something. After graduation, I went to work at a Home Health Care facility as a data entry clerk. My job was to key in time sheets in a program that was created in DOS to ensure that the nurses that went out to people’s homes would get paid for their services. Throughout the many different jobs I have held, one thing has remained the same; In every job I used some form of technology. Technology is here to stay and you will also have to deal with some form of technology no matter what career path you choose to take. Taking a look at your school career to date; how has technology impacted and/or changed? What are some of the changes you expect to see in the next ten years when dealing with techology?
I have been gratuated from high school for 20 years and the changes that have been placed before me when dealing with technology have been numerous. If I had not been willing to change with the times and learn new concepts on a regular basis, I would have lost many jobs and/or not been able to advance within the companies I have worked for. In thinking about the career you would like to someday work at, what type of technology would you use and what changes do you forsee in that area when it comes to technology.
